The University of Miami welcomes applications from active military members and veterans as well as their dependents who are eligible for education benefits offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs, including the Post-9/11 GI Bill and the Yellow Ribbon Program.
If active military members and veterans have not earned any college credits after high school graduation, they should apply via the first-year process. Refer to the First-Year Admission Requirements section for additional details.
If active military members and veterans have taken degree-seeking college credits after high school graduation – regardless of the number of credits earned – they should apply via the transfer process. Transfer applicants should refer to the Transfer Admission Requirements or additional details.
Dependents of active military members and veterans who are graduating from high school must apply via the first-year process.
The University of Miami will award up to six elective credits with the submission of the DD 214 form, which shows veterans were honorably discharged.
The Common Application fee is waived for active military members and veterans as well as their dependents. The $500 nonrefundable enrollment deposit fee will also be waived for active military members.
