Minor Area of Specialization in Artificial Intelligence for Business Technology (STEM)
The Minor in Artificial Intelligence for Business Technology is for Miami Herbert Business students who are seeking to understand how AI is poised to revolutionize the business landscape by offering a transformative competitive advantage to organizations across various sectors.
AI is altering conventional business models in unprecedented ways thanks to recent developments in machine learning, automation, and natural language processing, among others.
The minor includes courses in generative AI; the foundations in AI; AI programming, and an introduction to machine learning and their application to business problems, as well as topics classes in specialist areas.

All courses must be completed within the current pre-requisite structure. Each course may satisfy a requirement in only one major or minor area of specialization (i.e., no double counting).

AI-related special topics courses for this minor must be approved by the chair of the Department of Business Technology.

After review by the Vice Dean, another AI-related course (three credit hours) from other business disciplines in Miami Herbert Business School may be approved and substituted for one of the topic choices in the minor.
Note: All specific coursework for the minor in Artificial Intelligence for Business Technology must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better. In addition, a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required for all specific coursework taken in the minor area of specialization.
