To learn how to image, process and print lithographic plates and stones. Hand drawn, photographic and computer generated images will be covered on positive working lithography plates; traditional graining, drawing and processing of lithographic stones will also be covered as an optional method for students to pursue. Most printing will be a single color run but adding a second plate and monotyping will also be demonstrated. Print quality is the primary criteria for judging prints: lithography is known for its ability to create continuous tone prints, so utilizing that range of tone in your images is important. You may develop and choose your own subject matter and content or work experimentally and non-objectively.
