HAI 202. Intermediate Haitian Creole II. 3 Credit Hours.
Emphasis will be on speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities. In addition to the instruction of Haitian Creole, students will have a better understanding of the Haitian culture, society, and beliefs, which arc an important part of this class experience.
Furthermore, to help students understand the relationship between the spoken and the written forms of the language, the course will be taught entirely in Haitian Creole.
While gaining an understanding of the Haitian culture and its people, students in HAI 202 will learn how to avoid cross-cultural conflicts by developing awareness for common cultural issues and beliefs associated with healthcare, education, environment, religion.
